U=U Intergenerational Festival 2026: Beyond Zero with Communities

National Network for Immigrants and Refugees-Canada is proud to announce the upcoming U=U Intergenerational Festival 2026, a bold community-powered gathering dedicated to transforming conversations around HIV, ending stigma and celebrating the global impact of Undetectable = Untransmittable (U=U).

Taking place on July 17, 2026, in Toronto as a lead-up event to Zero HIV Stigma Day, this one-day hybrid festival will bring together activists, healthcare professionals, artists, researchers, youth leaders, elders and communities impacted by HIV for a vibrant day of healing, storytelling, dialogue and action.

Why This Festival Matters

This year marks 10 years of U=U, one of the most transformative advancements in HIV prevention and treatment advocacy. The science is clear: people living with HIV who maintain an undetectable viral load cannot sexually transmit the virus. Yet despite this breakthrough, stigma continues to isolate communities and create barriers to care.

The U=U Intergenerational Festival seeks to bridge that gap between science and society by creating spaces where truth replaces fear, storytelling replaces silence, and community replaces stigma.

Theme: “U=U: A Game Changer — Beyond Zero with Communities”

The festival will celebrate resilience, amplify lived experiences and mobilize communities toward a future free from HIV stigma.

What to Expect

This is not a traditional conference. The festival is designed as an immersive cultural and educational experience where health meets art, activism meets celebration, and communities lead the conversation.
