The National Network for Immigrants and Refugees-Canada (NNIR-Canada) is excited to announce internship opportunities for passionate, driven individuals who want to support community development and refugee settlement in Canada.

At NNIR, we believe that community integration happens when people are empowered, welcomed, and supported through every step of their journey. As an intern, you will be part of a team dedicated to creating inclusive, resilient communities for all.

We are currently recruiting for the following internship roles:

Caseworker intern

As a caseworker intern, you will assist in providing direct support to newcomers and refugees through case management, needs assessments, referrals and follow-ups. Learn how to navigate social services and advocate for clients with compassion and professionalism.

Ideal for: Social work, psychology, or social service students interested in frontline experience.

Fundraising intern

Support our development team in planning and executing fundraising campaigns, donor engagement strategies, grant research, and proposal writing. Gain insight into nonprofit revenue generation and sustainable funding practices.

Ideal for: Students or recent grads in marketing, communications, nonprofit management, or fundraising.

Community engagement and outreach intern

Help us amplify our presence in local communities, build relationships with partners, and support the coordination of events and outreach campaigns. You’ll contribute to social media, grassroots networking, and public education initiatives.

Ideal for: Creative individuals studying marketing, communications, public relations, or community development.

Refugee settlement worker intern

Support newly arrived refugee clients by assisting with housing, employment, education, and health service navigation. You’ll help facilitate smoother transitions into Canadian life while developing key settlement coordination skills.

Ideal for: Students in immigration studies, settlement services, or international development.
